ABSTRACT
This research work centres on effective communication as a tool in achieving organisational goal, using Cross State Internal Revenue Service as a case study. The survey research design was used to gather data for the study. A total of one hundred (100) respondents were sampled from a population of the general customers’ base. A well-structured questionnaire was administered to the respondents as the main instrument for data collection. Out of the one hundred (100) copies of the questionnaire distributed, a total of ninety (90) copies were retrieved 90 percent. Data collected were analyzed in percentage and tables. The study was anchored on the Stakeholder Theory developed by Edward Freeman in 1984 and Theory of Human Motivation developed by Abraham Maslow in 1943. The result analyzes that the problems many organisations have in achieving their goals is because of poor operational structure, low prospect to build effective communication with their customers and sustain them, harmony and convivial relationship that is exhibited by the generality of employees and employers that relates their customers, blockades in the flow of effective communication within their customer’s base or web etc. The study recommends that there has to be a build-up of effective communication system that can become a great tool to enhance the growth and credible performance of an organization so as to achieve the goals of the organization.
