Erasmus University Scholarship 2025/2026

Erasmus University Rotterdam, established in 1913, is a public research university in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is named after Desiderius Erasmus Roterodamus, a 15th-century humanist and theologian.

The NL Erasmus University Scholarship at the Erasmus School of Economics is designed for international students outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree in the Netherlands.

The scholarship worth € 10,000 is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Applications are currently open, and candidates from countries worldwide are invited to apply.

Tuition Fees

The program determines the tuition fees that international students pay at Erasmus University. For a bachelor’s degree program, the tuition fee is €15,900, while master’s students pay between €16,900 and €17,000

Eligibility Criteria

Erasmus University Scholarship 2025/2026

To be eligible for the NL Scholarship at Erasmus University, an applicant:

  • Must be a national of a country not part of the European Economic Area (EEA).
  • Must have never been enrolled as a full-degree student at an educational institution in the Netherlands.
  • Must be selected for one of the following programs:
  1. Bachelor of International Econometrics and Operations Research
  2. Bachelor of International Economics and Business Economics
  3. Double bachelor BSc2 in Econometrics and Economics
  • Must have registered for one of the bachelors mentioned above programs at Erasmus School of Economics in StudielinkOpens external and submitted the application documents in the EUR Application Portal before February 1, 2025, to be considered for the scholarship.
  • Must complete the mathematics entrance exam before April 1 with a sufficient result if math is found deficient during the bachelor application procedure.
  • Must have achieved excellent study results during their secondary school education. This means an average final result of at least grade 8.0 on a grading scale of 1-10.
  • You must be able to demonstrate the reason why this scholarship will enlarge your opportunity to study at Erasmus School of Economics by including a detailed financial statement describing your financial situation and how you plan to finance your studies (i.e., cover your tuition fee payment as well as the remaining living expenses), in case you will receive the Erasmus University Holland Scholarship.
  • Must have completed the immigration application. The deadline to complete the immigration procedure is July 15. However, students with a scholarship application should send their application by May at the latest.
  • Must eventually be enrolled no later than September 1 of the academic year for which the scholarship is requested.

Scholarship Benefits

If you are selected for the scholarship at Erasmus University Rotterdam, you will be awarded financial aid valued at € 10,000, which will be split into two parts. The first € 5,000 is used as a tuition fee reduction, and the other € 5,000 will be received by the student through 10 monthly payments. The € 5,000 grant that the student will receive can be used as part of the required living fee deposit for the immigration procedure.

Application Procedure

Prepare the following documents:

  • Certified copy of your (most recent) academic transcript.
  • Financial statement: Describe your financial situation and the reason and need to receive the scholarship.
  • Certified statement from your educational institution confirming your obtained GPA. The GPA template document below can be used for this. You can also use a statement provided by your home University, but this statement must contain the same information as our standard statement.
  • Motivation letter: Stating your motivation to study at Erasmus School of Economics.
    Showing evidence of being an excellent student.
    Demonstrating why the scholarship would enlarge the opportunity to study at the Erasmus School of Economics (max. two A4).
  • Budget plan: overview explaining how you plan to finance your studies in case you receive the Erasmus University.
