The Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship targets students from developing countries who wish to study and earn a bachelor’s degree from universities in the United States of America.
The Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship is sponsored by the Wells Mountain Initiative, a public charitable foundation based in Bristol, Vermont, USA, and approved by the United States Internal Revenue Service.
This is a fully funded program that provides students with funding to study undergraduate degree programs in the country. The target group, however, must have good grades at school, perform community service, and adhere to WMI deadlines for the submission of an official copy of school/course grades and the semester report.
Tuition Fees in USA
Students pursuing undergraduate studies in the public universities of the United States of America pay between 20,000 dollars and 40,000 dollars per academic year. On the other hand, students pursuing graduate programs pay between 20,000 dollars and 45,000 dollars.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, you must;
- Have completed a secondary education with good to excellent grades
- Be 35 years of age or under by the deadline.
- Be studying in his or her country or another country in the developing world.
- Be pursuing their first bachelor’s degree or diploma.
- Will be enrolled in a program of study that will benefit the community and/or contribute to the continued growth and advancement of their home country
- Plans to live and work in their own country after graduation
- Has demonstrated their commitment to giving back and has volunteered before applying
- May have some additional funds available to support part of their education, but not enough to complete their degree without a scholarship.
Benefits of Scholarship
Applicants who are successfully admitted into the 2025 Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship for an undergraduate course in the United States will be made an offer of scholarship award that will be tuition and other related expenses toward the course work.

- Personal statement (essay)
- Two letters of recommendation
- Official secondary school grades transcript
- Official grading key to interpret grades (secondary school)
- Official grades transcript of tertiary studies (if applicable)
- Official grading key to interpret tertiary grades
- Official results from your national exam
- Grading key to interpret your scores on your national exam (official)
Application Procedure
Applications for the Wells Mountain Initiative Scholarship could be submitted by two media.
The applicants can apply online through submission of a completed application packet by post to the office.
Online application: The applicants are required to access the application portal as it would require the applicant to create an absolutely free account, username and password.
Fill in the information and upload documents.
Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply online since it will provide you the option to save and return to your work multiple times.
You will ensure that your application, once submitted online will be received and considered.
Mail-in: You will have to print the application form for 2025. It will be your responsibility to complete it legibly and staple all required supporting documents before mailing it in.
