The University of Sydney offers a Postgraduate Scholarship to provide financial assistance to an exceptional PhD student undertaking research at an Australian university.
The scholarship is funded by the Department of Health and Aged Care (Federal—administered by NHMRC) and allows the successful candidate to undertake research in bioethics or health law related to the Interconnect Health Research project’s focus.
A scholarship worth $30,000 will be awarded to the selected student in addition to the full coverage of tuition costs at the University of Sydney. Domestic or international students are welcome to apply for the scholarship currently open to those interested in pursuing a postgraduate degree at the university.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees at the University of Sydney, Australia, will depend on your chosen course and the year you start studying at the higher institution. For undergraduates, the cost of study ranges from A$52,000 to A$56,000. Postgraduate coursework tuition fee is about A$44,500 to A$47,000. Meanwhile, postgraduate research scholars will be paid between A$47,500 to A$47,000.
Eligibility Criteria
Here is what is required to be eligible:
- Applicant must be willing to apply for admission, have an offer of admission, or
- Must be currently enrolled to study full-time in a PhD within the Faculty of Medicine and Health
- Applicant must conduct research in bioethics or health law related to improving the physical and mental health of people born with innate variations of sex characteristics.
Scholarship Benefits
When selected for the 2025 University of Sydney Postgraduate Scholarship, you will get full tuition fee coverage for the program. The scholarship will also provide a stipend of up to $30,000 to support students annually for 3.5 years. This funding is subject to satisfactory academic performance.
