The University of Leeds, in partnership with the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Charitable Trust Foundation, offers scholarships to qualified international students to study in the United Kingdom. The 2025 University of Leeds Ferguson Scholarship is a one-year fully funded program that provides funding for students at the Master’s level, covering their tuition fees, travel, and other expenses.

Recipients must be nationals of developing countries who wish to pursue a full-time Master’s degree program related to economic, social, or technological development (except the Leeds MBA).

The University of Leeds is a public research university founded in 1904. Its origins go back to 1874 when it was known as the Yorkshire College of Science. The institution is located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. In 1884, it merged with the Leeds School of Medicine.

Tuition Fees

The average tuition fee for domestic students at the University of Leeds is around $5,841 annually. However, it differs for international students, as the cost of study ranges from $6,908 to £9,535.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Allan and Nesta Ferguson Scholarship at the University of Leeds, applicants must:

Be from developing countries.

  • Be ready to undertake a one-year taught Master’s program of study in selected Schools, with areas of study related to the applicant’s home country’s economic, social, or technological development.
  • Must hold, or expect to have by September 2025, a First Degree at undergraduate level equivalent to at least a UK Upper Second Class Honours degree.
  • Should either have graduated with the appropriate First Degree or be in their final year of study.
  • Applicants whose first language is not English must meet the University’s English Language requirements by February 3, 2025.
  • Not have undertaken studies lasting one year or more in a developed country.
  • Be unable themselves, or through their families, to pay to study in the UK.
  • These awards are only available to applicants liable to pay academic fees at the International fee rate.

Benefits of Scholarship
