The University of Gothenburg was established in 1954 by amalgamating with the medical college. It is the third-oldest of the modern universities in Sweden and boasts a student population of about 53,624 with 6,707 staff strength.
Axel Adler Scholarship for Sustainability 2025 is a partly funded undergraduate and postgraduate program that provides funding opportunities to international students studying for Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden.
The scholarship is funded by the Adlerbertska Scholarship Foundation, the Adlerbertska Grant Foundation, and the Swedish Council for Higher Education (UHR). The University of Gothenburg Axel Adler Scholarship for Sustainability accepts applications from international students interested in studying at the Swedish University.
Tuition Fees
Students who are citizens of EU/EEA or Switzerland do not pay tuition fees in Sweden. All other students except exchange students are required to pay tuition fees. International students are required to pay application and tuition fees. However, there are some exceptions, such as if you’ve been granted a permanent or temporary Swedish residence permit, a family member of a citizen of an EU or EEA country, or Switzerland, if you are an incoming exchange student, and if you are a PhD student in Sweden. The tuition fee that international students pay will vary depending on the type of course or study program. However, the application fee to be paid when applying for courses or study programs is SEK 900.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, candidates must meet/have the following requirements and documents:
- You are required to pay tuition in Sweden.
- You need to apply for an international campus-based program at the University of Gothenburg as your priority.
- Visit www.universityadmissions.se and submit your application for studies.
Also, have the following documents ready;
- CV and Letter of Motivation
- You shall include a CV and a Letter of Motivation when applying for the Axel Adler Scholarship.
- In the motivational letter, you can highlight the merits of your CV.
Selection process
Academic staff will assess and rank based on the CV and motivation letter in your scholarship application. The assessment is made in collaboration with the evaluation of your application to the study program to determine your suitability for the program as well as your commitment and desire to study.
One scholarship is awarded for each program. However, there is an exception for Master’s degrees in Fine Arts, Crafts, and Design, as well as Music and Performance, which will be awarded a total of four scholarships for all programs.
Benefits of Scholarship
If selected for the University of Gothenburg Axel Adler Scholarship program, you will be awarded a scholarship that only provides a tuition fee waiver. No additional financial support for living expenses or travel grants is provided.
Application Procedure
- First, apply for admission to an eligible Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program at the University of Gothenburg.
- Students who have fulfilled the requirements and applied to any program as their priority will receive an email with application instructions around February 11, 2025.
- The invitation to apply for the Axel Adler Scholarship will be sent to the email address you have registered at universityadmissions.se.
- If you are eligible and have not received an email by this date (and have also checked your Spam mail folder), please let the institution know by sending an email to [email protected].
