The University of Florida is a government-run land-grant research university which traces its origins to 1853. Its campus is situated in Gainesville, Florida, United States. The higher institution is among the top five public land-grant research universities.
University of Florida Graduate Scholarship is an annual program for international students interested in undertaking postgraduate programs in the United States. The program which is coordinated under the Department of Psychology offers full financial aid that covers the costs of tuition, provides $25,000 annual living stipends, and health insurance.
The selection process involves the faculty reviewing applications and making recommendations for admission and funding to a department-wide committee, which then makes the final decision on funding offers.
Eligibility Criteria
Outlined below are what the University of Florida’s admissions considerations are based on;
Undergraduate preparation:
- At least one course in statistics
- At least one course in each of the following areas of Psychology:
- Biological bases (physio, sensory, comparative)
- Developmental Changes (child/adolescent, lifespan)
- Learning and Cognition (behavioral analysis, cognitive processes)
- Sociocultural/Individual differences (social, personality, abnormal)
Candidates for graduate program will be considered based on;
- Having an average GPA of 3.8 for the last two years
- Research experience
- Relevant volunteer/work experience
- Letters of recommendation
Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship will provide first-year undergraduate students with funding for five years of the program. There will be assistantships awarded based on actual or potential teaching ability, research and technology skills, or other special expertise. The scholarship is valued at $25,000 will cover living expenses, health insurance disbursed over a 12-month period and a tuition waiver for each of the years.
