The University of Alberta is a public university that dates back to 1908. It was founded by Alexander Cameron Rutherford, the first premier of Alberta, and Henry Marshall Tory, the university’s first president. Tuition Fees
The tuition fees that international students are required to pay in Alberta, Canada, typically range from $4,975 to $7,000 CAD for one semester (5 months). But if it is for a full academic year (10 months), you’ll pay $9,500 to $12,500 CAD.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to all nationalities.
- Applicants for a bachelor’s degree must have a high school certificate.
- Applicants for master’s degrees must have a bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates for the PhD level must have a master’s degree certificate.

Scholarship Benefits
Most scholarship candidates do not need to apply separately; the university automatically considers applicants once they have enrolled in any degree program.
The U of A has multiple awards. However, there are three main scholarship categories, namely;
Entrance scholarships – Available for Bachelors and Graduate degree programs and candidates are automatically considered for this scholarship after getting admission.
International Student Scholarships—This scholarship is for New first-year international students in undergraduate degree programs. Applicants must have a Student Visa Permit. The scholarship is worth up to $9,000 CAD and is payable for four years.
Graduate Excellence Scholarship (AGES)—AGES is specifically for Master’s and Doctorate degree Students to study at the University. Selected candidates can receive an award of $15,000 CAD to meet their expenses.
