Temple University in the United States of America was established in 1884 by Baptist minister Russell Conwell and his congregation Grace Baptist Church of Philadelphia, formerly Baptist Temple.
Temple University is the only public university in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and it focuses on research-related activities. Four percent of universities are classified as R1 institutions, and Temple University is one of them.
Temple University offers two-category scholarships to first-year international students, renewable up to $20,000. T.U. Undergraduate Scholarships (#YouAreWelcomeHere and the #WhyUS scholarships) launched in 2016 recognize and support students with a vision for fostering intercultural understanding.
Applications for the 2025 scholarship are open, and international bachelors-seeking students are welcome to apply for a chance to receive merit-based scholarships to study at Temple University in the USA.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees for students at Temple University in the United States fall between $21,135 and $ 35,608. International students must pay tuition for two academic semesters + estimated living expenses of $15,000 + $8700 in estimated fees for books, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Here are the requirements you must fulfill to be eligible for the T.U. Undergraduate Scholarship;
- You must be a first-year international applicant without U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Applicants are attending or have graduated from a secondary school outside the U.S.
- Applicants must demonstrate interest and personal initiative in intercultural learning and exchange activities.
- You must be a first-year or transfer international student.
- You must be a Temple applicant (already admitted, applied, or soon to apply).
Scholarship Benefits
When selected for the scholarship, recipients of the T.U. #Youarewelcomehere program will be awarded a renewable scholarship of $20,000 per year for over 4 years ($80,000).
The newly released # WhyUS campaign offers scholarships ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 for up to four consecutive years (four years for first-year students and two years for transfer students).
Application Procedure
Follow the steps outlined below:
- Apply for undergraduate admission to Temple University using the Common Application.
- Candidates should submit the #YouAreWelcomeHere application and the required essay or video to [email protected]. Large video files can be shared via a link.
- Candidates should submit the #WhyUS application with their response to the creative prompt.
- If awarded a scholarship, claim it by submitting an enrollment deposit by May 1.
