Semmelweis Pannonia In Excellence Scholarship is a program designed to support academically brilliant students with funding to complete their studies in Hungary. The scholarship is funded by Semmelweis University as a way of encouraging international students to enroll in English or German-taught undergraduate and master’s programs at the university.
This merit-based scholarship provides support to outstanding candidates from designated countries outside Hungary. The funding scheme recognizes excellence in academics, sports, and the arts.
Semmelweis University is Hungary’s leading medical and health sciences institution. Founded in 1769, Semmelweis, located in Budapest, is renowned for its quality education and excellence in research healthcare.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship you must fulfill the requirements outlined below.
- Applicant must be a foreigner
- Candidate should enroll in an English or German-taught program
- Candidate should have commenced and completed at least two active semesters
- Candidate should have outstanding academic performance
- You should not be a recipient of any other Hungarian scholarship.

These are the faculties that accept scholarship recipients into any of their departments;
- András Pető Faculty
- Faculty of Dentistry
- Faculty of Health Sciences
- Faculty of General Medicine
- Faculty of Pharmacy
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of this scholarship will receive between HUF 900,000 and HUF 2,900,000, depending on the faculty. Financial aid is awarded for one academic year and paid in 12 equal monthly installments.

- Go to the university website.
- Secure admission to an eligible program
- A scholarship application form will be available in June 2025 via the Neptun Study System.
- During the application, candidates must provide all necessary documents.
