About Scholarship

The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, in partnership with the University of Ghana School of Public Health, is inviting applications for the 2026 SRHPP Scholarship. This scholarship supports students from sub-Saharan Africa who wish to study public health through a fully funded online Master’s programme.

The SRHPP Scholarship covers full tuition fees, provides a £17,850 stipend, and includes a £1,000 grant for IT equipment and related learning costs. The scholarship applies to the MSc Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy and Programming, an intensive online programme jointly developed and delivered by LSHTM and UGSPH.

The MSc SRHPP Scholarship fund aims to strengthen sexual and reproductive health systems in sub-Saharan Africa by supporting professionals who are committed to designing, implementing, and evaluating evidence-based sexual and reproductive health programmes and policies.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine SRHPP Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be nationals of, and ordinarily resident in, a sub-Saharan African country as defined by the World Bank
  • Have submitted an application for the online MSc Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy and Programming programme with all required supplementary documents
  • Have at least two years of work experience in sexual and reproductive health or other health-related fields in any sub-Saharan African country
  • Meet the School’s minimum English language proficiency requirements if shortlisted for the scholarship by Monday, 15 June 2026

Applications are encouraged from candidates of all backgrounds who meet both the MSc entry requirements and the scholarship eligibility criteria, including applicants working within Ministries of Health.

Scholarship Benefits

Each London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine SRHPP Scholarship provides the following benefits:

  • Full tuition fees at the LSHTM low- and middle-income country fee rate of £17,850
  • A one-time allowance of £1,000 for IT equipment, internet access, or other learning-related costs

The IT allowance is intended to support reliable access to a computer and stable internet for effective online learning. Applicants are expected to confirm that they meet the programme’s IT requirements before submitting their application. Where IT support is not required, the allowance may be used for other approved learning costs.

Application Procedure

To apply for the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine SRHPP Scholarship, interested and qualified candidates should follow the steps below:

  • Submit an application for the 2026–27 academic year for the MSc Sexual and Reproductive Health Policy and Programming programme through the relevant programme page
  • After submitting the programme application, receive an automated email from the Scholarships Team with a link to the online scholarships application portal
  • Log in using the temporary password provided and update your credentials via e-vision
  • Search for “MSc Sexual & Reproductive Health Policy and Programming” in the scholarships portal
  • Complete all required questions and submit the scholarship application
  • Receive a confirmation email upon successful submission
  • Note that applications cannot be accepted after the stated deadline
  • The Scholarships Team will communicate the outcome in due course
