ABSTRACT

One of the bio masses that is available in plenty without being potentially utilized is tailor waste fabrics obtained from tailoring shops. These waste cloths are cut into small pieces of size approximately 20mm x 20mm, used in sandcrete in various percentages after preliminary treatment. The incorporation of these waste cloths increases the flexural, tensile properties besides increase in energy absorption. Necessary engineering properties and physical properties are studied systematically and compared with the control sandcrete. The potential usage and importance of this new material has been discussed in detail. The aim of this project is to ascertain the Utilization of tailor waste fabric (textile) in sandcrete block production. The result of the test carried out on the molded blocks were recorded and tabulated stating clearly the values of the compressive strength in each samples and curing days. From the results, the sandcrete with 1% waste fabric has the lowest compressive strength within the limit of this research consideration. The 0.5% fabric shows a different trend, overlapping with 0.25% at 21 and 28days age. Sandcrete blocks did not produce better compressive strength than the control sandcrete blocks.
