Online Voting System with the Use of Blockchain Technology

ABSTRACT

Voting is an important mechanism in many countries around the world, and it is essential in every community based on consensus. Most elections have been rigged in the past to affect the outcome, and the results have been declared without any polling procedure, which has been attributed to a weak and horrible electoral system. This project exercise entails a Blockchain-based solution to create a transparent, trustworthy, and decentralized voting system that focuses on public key cryptography, anonymity, and electoral verification measures. The first application of Blockchain technology was Bitcoin, a digital currency built on Blockchain technology that benefited from the decentralized network’s potential. Many digital currencies arose after Bitcoin. For several years, Blockchain has been mistaken as a public ledger that can be used to keep track of online currency transactions. People were less aware of Blockchain’s other features and, as a consequence, applications. Online voting, also known as open voting, is a good example of how the Blockchain can be used.
