Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and Sustainable Development in Nigeria

The use of Information and Communication Technology to drive sustainable development is a constant debate. This study therefore is an attempt to appraise the role of Information and Communication technology on sustainable development. It finds out the significance and role played by Information and Communication Technology towards sustainable development. The research adopted questionnaire and interview to gather data for the research. The findings of this study revealed that Information and Communication Technology has occupied great position in driving sustainable development and improved civilization. Certain challenges associated with sustainable involved the high cost of its materials. The study thereby recommends government to provide subsidy on the price of ICT materials for all round development.
