ABSTRACT

This study is on “The Impact of Internal Control on the Accountability of Micro Finance Banks in Nigeria”. Its main objective is to examine the extent to which internal control enhances accountability in micro finance bank, out of which Nasarawa Micro Finance Bank was selected as sample by means of judgment sampling techniques. Data were collected by means of questionnaire and they were analyzed by means of percentages. The hypotheses were tested by means of chi-square. It was established that internal control system is an effective tool for financial management in an organization. The study recommends that management should try as much as possible to introduce internal control procedure owing to the numerous benefits attributed to the use of the organization.
