ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of human capital development on teacher’s performance in teaching of Economics in Senior Secondary School. The sample of the study was made up of 100 Economics teachers in Senior Secondary School. Three research questions and two hypotheses were raised in the study to find out the impact of human capital development on teachers in Lagos State.
The research instrument used for this study was 5- point Likert scale questionnaire consisting of twenty items.
The finding of this study revealed that the perception of professional and non-professional teachers in Lagos State.
However, it was recommended among others, that human capital development increase the number of people with requisite knowledge, education, skill and experience that are crucial for the economic development of a country.
