ABSTRACT

The study was aimed at Evaluating Health Education As A Tool For Eradicating Communicable Disease Among Secondary School Students In Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. A survey research design was used for the study, a sample of one hundred and fifty (150) respondents made up of students were selected using simple random sampling technique. Questionnaire was used as data collection instrument. Data collected was analyzed using simple percentage in the analysis of respondents’ demographic information and mean score statistics in the analysis of the research questions. Findings from the study revealed that health education exposes students to appropriate diet and treatment of common communicable diseases. Health education also has significant positive effects in minimizing communicable disease among secondary school students in Gidan Waya. Based on the research findings, it was recommended that the Government should provide adequate infrastructure for schools and testing laboratories for quick detection and treatment of communicable diseases.
