ABSTRACT

Moringa Oleifera (Moringa) is a highly valued plant, distributed in many countries of the tropics and subtropics. The chloroplast genome offer important genetic data for research on plant evolution and function. The chloroplast genome of Moringa oleifera extracted using Zymo Research chloroplast isolation kit. Chloroplast isolation was carried out using Quick-DNATM Plant/Seed Miniprep Kit. The isolated DNA was analysed using agarose gel electrophoresis. The
nanodrop was used to find the concentration of DNA in the sample. The full chloroplast genome of Moringa oleifera was isolated and the genome was assembled using Geneious Prime v2023.1.2. Some key findings of this study are the chloroplast genome of M. oleifera are length, which is 160,600 bp, the genes, which are 132 in number. The genes encodes for proteins involved in photosynthesis, chloroplast biogenesis, and other essential functions. The assembly of the M. oleifera chloroplast genome provides a valuable resource for studies of the molecular biology and evolution of this important plant species.
