Automated Administrative System for Orphanages

ABSTRACT

This project comprises of the investigation, design and implementation of an automated administrative system for an orphanage. It captures the need for the introduction of
Information Technology (IT) into Nigerian organisations. The Waterfall model was used as methodology in the entire process of project execution, from requirement gathering and
analysis phase all the way to the maintenance phase of the Waterfall model. The proposed system was developed using Microsoft ASP.NET MVC framework and Microsoft SQL
server as database. The later part of the project contains highlighted recommendations aimed at improving the functionality, security and usability of the new system if adhered to. The result obtained from the implementation showed that the use of the automated administrative system in an orphanage will improve the quality of information stored about orphans and enhance accountability and management of children and staff of the orphanage.
