ABSTRACT

This present research work was carried out to investigate the antioxidant and antimicrobial sensitivity of ethanol extract of Syzygium aromaticum, Xylopia aethiopica and Aframomum sceptrum. Antioxidant sensitivity was determined and compared with the ascorbic acid while the Antimicrobial sensitivity that was determined were the Anti-bacteria (both +ve and -ve) and Anti-fungal, which where compared with some active drugs like Ceftrazon, Gentamycin, Ciprofloxacin, Fluconazole e.t.c. All the spices used were rich in antioxidant sensitivity while Cloves and Uda are riched in Antimicrobial sensitivity, but Orima does not have sufficient concentration of antibacterial and antifungal.
