The University of Winnipeg President’s Scholarship for World Leaders offers financial aid to exceptional international students to enable them to pursue graduate studies at Canadian Universities.
The University of Winnipeg is a public research university in Manitoba, Canada. Its roots date back to 1967 at the former United College, a member college of the University of Manitoba. The higher institution, which is affiliated with the United Church of Canada, offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in the areas of art, business, economics, education, and science.
International students at the University of Winnipeg Faculty of Graduate Studies can benefit from a variety of awards and scholarships, such as the President’s Scholarship for World Leaders.
Applications are open, and international students entering a University of Winnipeg graduate program for the first time are encouraged to apply for funding to study in Canada.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fees at the University of Winnipeg are separated based on the course of study and nationality. Full-time international students (taking five or more credits) pay a flat tuition of CAD $18,500.00, while other international students taking fewer than five courses within the institution will pay CAD $3,700 per credit.
Other payments that students are expected to make include a book and Lab Fee of $75, an Instrumental Band Fee of $100, an Outdoor Education Fee of $125, and a Graduation Fee of $340.
Eligibility Criteria
The University of Winnipeg President’s Scholarship has a set of requirements that must be fulfilled, and they have been outlined below.
- Applicant must be an international student.
- Applicant must be entering the first year of any program.
- Applicant must have a minimum 80% admission average or equivalent.
- You must demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities.
- You must submit a complete admission application by the scholarship deadline.
- However, qualifying year or pre-masters students do not qualify.
Benefits of Scholarship
The President’s Scholarship for World Leaders, sponsored by the University of Winnipeg, is a partly funded program for international graduate students. The financial aid provided for recipients is valued at $5,000.
Application Procedure
To stand a chance of being considered for the scholarship,
- A student must have completed an application for admission to the University of Winnipeg.
An application package which is complete includes the following documents;
- A completed application form.
- One 250-500 word personal statement
- A curriculum vitae
- Two references who can speak to your extra-curricular/volunteer activities
- Applicants to the President’s Scholarship for World Leaders should apply through the Awards Office.
