The MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship aims to empower women to pursue degrees and ultimately seek careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). This scholarship supports female students worldwide with the funding needed to overcome financial barriers and achieve their academic and career goals.
2025 MPOWER Women in STEM scholarship awards up to $6,000 grants to female applicants to enable them to study at the undergraduate or postgraduate level in the United States of America or Canada. The scholarship covers essential resources for tuition, books, and other educational expenses. The program builds a community of women dedicated to advancing in STEM, facilitating networking opportunities and mentorship.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligible applicants are those who;
- Are international students legally permitted to study in the U.S. or Canada?
- Must have been accepted or enrolled in a full-time degree program at an MPOWER-eligible school in the U.S. or Canada.
- Only female students are eligible to apply.
For study in the USA, applicants
- You must have a valid visa that permits study.
- You should be a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder).
- Is protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
For study in Canada, applicants
- You must have a valid Canadian study permit.
- You must be a Canadian permanent resident.
Scholarship Benefits
Candidates successfully selected for the 2025 MPOWER Women in STEM Scholarship will be receiving:
Grand Prize: $6,000
Runner-Up: $2,000
Additionally, they will benefit from an ‘Honorable Mention’ $1,000 Networking Opportunity with peers and industry professionals and mentorship opportunities for career growth.
Application Procedure
- Go to the MPOWER Financing website to access the scholarship application page.
- Complete the online application form with accurate personal and academic information.
- Write a personal essay detailing your passion for STEM, career goals, and how the scholarship will support your education.
- Submit any required documents, including transcripts, proof of enrollment, and letters of recommendation (if applicable).
- Review your application for completeness and accuracy before submitting it.
These documents will need to be submitted along with the application form;
- Academic transcript
- Resume or CV
- 500-word essay
