King’s College London was founded in 1829 as a public research university in London, England, United Kingdom. The College was established by royal charter under the patronage of King George IV and the Duke of Wellington. In 1836, King’s became one of the two founding colleges of the University of London.
The King’s College Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme is a fully funded program that allows students from eligible low—and middle-income Commonwealth countries to study approved Master’s programs at UK higher institutions.
This full scholarship covers tuition fees and airfare and provides candidates with a monthly stipend and study and clothing grants. Applications are open for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships Scheme (CSSS) awards at King’s College London, and students who meet the criteria are welcome to apply.
Tuition Fees
Like many others in the United Kingdom, King’s College’s tuition fees are not cheap. The cost of studying at this prestigious higher institution varies by program and study term, but on average, it ranges from £15,636 to £35,800.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, the candidate must:
- Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2025.
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honors standard or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree) by September 2025
- Not have studied or worked for more than one (academic) year or more in a high-income country.
- Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
- Be proficient in English to pursue the course.
- They must be willing to confirm that they will return to their home country as soon as the period of study is over.
Selection Criteria
Candidates for King’s College Commonwealth Scholarship will be considered for selection based on the following criteria:
- Academic merit of the candidate
- Quality of the plan of study
- Potential impact on the development of the candidate’s home country

- MSc Global Mental Health
- MSc Mental Health Studies
- MSc Palliative Care
Scholarship Benefits
The Kings College Commonwealth Shared Scholarship will provide recipients with full tuition fee coverage, including a monthly Stipend valued at £1,347 or £1,652 per month. Additionally, travel Costs from the scholar’s home country to the UK and return at the end of the award will be covered.

Apply to the CSC via the CSC’s online application system by 16:00 (UK Time) on December 12, 2024.
AND
By the deadline of January 08, 2025, submit a complete King’s College London online admissions application for any of the following approved Master’s programs: MSc Mental Health Studies, MSc Global Mental Health, MSc Palliative Care, or MRes Clinical Research.
Within the “Funding” screen of your King’s admissions application, please tick option 5 and add “CSSS2025” to the “award scheme code or name” field.
