JSU Presidential Scholarship 2025/2026

Jiangsu University is a provincial public university founded in 1902 as Sanjiang Normal College. Located in Zhenjiang, Jiangsu, China, this higher institution holds a global reputation for excellence in education and research.

In 2001, the Ministry of Education of China approved the merger of Jiangsu University (JSU) with the former Jiangsu University of Science and Technology, Zhenjiang Medical College, and Zhenjiang Teachers’ College to form the current university.

JSU Presidential Scholarship offers support to international students from around the globe who want to pursue a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree in China. The aim is to improve Jiangsu Education’s profile worldwide and support the higher education of overseas students.

Tuition Fees in China

Undergraduate students at public universities in China typically pay tuition fees between $2,000 and $10,000 per year, depending on the university and its significance. The average cost of pursuing PhD programs as an international student in China ranges from $2,008 to $7,700 per year.

Eligibility Criteria

JSU Presidential Scholarship 2025/2026

Here are the requirements applicants must meet to be eligible for the Jiangsu University Presidential Scholarship.

  • Open to students of all nationalities.
  • Must be international students
  • Applicant must hold an offer to study in an approved undergraduate or graduate program.
  • For the Bachelor’s program, the applicant must be under 25 years.
  • Master’s students are required to be under 30 years.
  • For PhD students, you must be under 40 years.

Required Documents

  • Gather and prepare the documents outlined below:
  • Degree Certificate (Notarized English translation if applicable)
  • A valid copy of the passport
  • Transcript (Notarized English translation if applicable)
  • English language proficiency certificate (non-English speaking countries)
  • HSK-4 certificate (for Chinese-Medium programs)
  • Family financial statement
  • Research proposal (Master’s and PhD only)
  • Two Letters of Recommendation (Master’s and PhD only)

Scholarship Benefits

The Jiangsu University Presidential Scholarship provides separate benefits for the award recipient depending on study level.

Type A (Masters)

Recipients are awarded a scholarship valued at CNY 25,000, and it is available to excellent JSU students continually studying from the bachelor degree to master degree; Candidates recommended by the “Belt and Road” Cooperative Universities; Graduate candidates from the top 1,000 Universities in the world (according to four internationally recognized universities ranking system, namely the US News & World Report, QS, THE, ARWU); Graduate candidates from “First-Class Universities” in China; and graduates from the program of “First-class Disciplines” or top 1% of ESI.

Type B

The JSU Presidential scholarship, which is open to other admitted master candidates, awards a grant valued at CNY 20,000 to its recipients.

Type A (PhD)

JSU Presidential scholarship will provide financial aid covering tuition and accommodation fees (CNY 5,000), and recipients will get a stipend of CNY 5,000 for living expenses. It is open to the following categories:

  • Excellent JSU students continually studying from the master’s degree to doctoral degree;
  • Candidates recommended by the “Belt and Road” Cooperative Universities;
  • Graduate Candidates from the top 1000 universities in the world (according to four internationally recognized university ranking systems, namely the US News & World Report, QS, THE, and ARWU);
  • Graduate Candidates from “First-class Universities” in China; graduates from the program of “First-class Disciplines” or top 1% of ESI.

Type B

The JSU Presidential Scholarship will provide financial aid to cover tuition and accommodation fees (CNY 5,000). It is available to other admitted Ph.D. candidates.

Type 3. Scholarships for Bachelor Programs Taught in English

Recipients will be awarded a scholarship valued at CNY 10,000 (first year ONLY). The scholarship is open to new undergraduate students from these new programs: Corporate Finance, Electronic Commerce, and Material Science and Engineering.
