Illinois Wesleyan University Scholarships are available in two categories: Presidential and Merit Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded to international students willing to pursue undergraduate studies in the USA.
Merit-based scholarships are offered to qualified international students who have outstanding academic achievement and test scores on the required entrance exams. Presidential scholarships are awarded to highly qualified international students based on their talents, interests, and academic achievements.
Participants in the Presidential Scholarships will receive coverage for the full tuition fees. The Merit scholarships will provide an annual benefit of $30,000 for up to four years for selected applicants.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be international students.
- Applicants must meet the university’s English language requirement.

- Application form
- Academic transcripts for all previous high school and/or college coursework
- Application essay
- Teacher Evaluation or Recommendation (for those utilizing CommonApp, the evaluation portion of the School Report will fulfill this requirement, but additional letters are welcome.)
- ACT /SAT scores OR Personal Interview (for test optional)
- TOEFL or IELTS scores also apply to international students whose first or native language is not English.
Benefits of Scholarship
The Merit awards that beneficiaries receive at Illinois Wesleyan University range from $16,000 to $38,000 per year and are renewable for up to four years. Under the Presidential Scholarships, two full-tuition scholarships are awarded each year to highly qualified international candidates based on their academic achievements, interests, and talents.
