Fight For Sight is offering scholarship to brilliant candidates from around the world to pursue PhD studies in Ophthalmic and vision research at universities in the United Kingdom. It provides full financial support for recipients proposing hypothesis-driven clinical or non-clinical research projects to address sight loss caused by any eye condition.
The scheme will build capacity by encouraging the development of talented, highly motivated graduates in ophthalmic and vision research. Additionally, the program welcomes applications for vision-loss-related research in epidermolysis bullosa.
Tuition Fees in UK
Studying at universities in the UK typically ranges from £7,145 to £9,535 for domestic students. However, as an international student, the tuition fees you will pay are usually between £16,850 and £38,000.
Eligibility Criteria

- Applications must be coordinated by the potential PhD supervisor(s).
- Lead supervisors and co-supervisors must be affiliated with academic or medical institutions in the UK.
- Research must be carried out within the UK, but with the right justification, the candidates can travel abroad for a short time.
- Applicants must check if the proposed research studentship is more suitable for the UKVRN Doctoral Training Programme.
Scholarship Benefits
This PhD scholarship by Fight For Sight is fully funded, but does not provide funding to candidates already in a program. As a recipient of this scholarship, you will receive;
- £135,000 (Outside London)
- £143,000 (In London)

- Application review and approval will be given by two authorised signatories of the host institution (Head of Department and Finance Office).
