Eric Bleumink Scholarships are designed to provide international students with educational support to undertake their postgraduate programs in any discipline at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
The financial aid available under this fully funded scholarship covers tuition fees and international travel. Other costs are also handled during the student’s Master’s program.
The University of Groningen is a research university located in Groningen, Netherlands. It is the second oldest higher institution in Europe. The university was established in 1614, and more than 30,000 students are currently enrolled.
Students who have consistently excelled academically and achieved exceptional grades throughout their educational journey are often selected to participate in the scholarship program.

Tuition Fees
The Netherlands is a relatively affordable place to study, even though the tuition fees for students from outside the country are higher than those for domestic students. The cheapest Dutch universities that welcome international students usually charge tuition ranging from 7,000 EUR to 9,500 EUR per year.
Eligibility Criteria
You are eligible for the scholarship if you;
- Have received provisional or unconditional admission for a master’s program before February 2025. Only then will applicants be considered for a grant from the Eric Bleumink Fund
- Have no other means of financing the study in question
- Have excellent grades during their bachelor/undergraduate studies;
- Have excellent English language proficiency by the admission requirements of the program of choice
- Be available for the whole period of the program and be able to take part in the entire program.
- Have excellent academic performance, preferably to be confirmed by letters of recommendation.
- Be in good health even though you will be entitled to health insurance.

Scholarship Benefits
When selected for the Eric Bleumink Scholarship in the Netherlands, the funding provided will cover the recipient’s tuition fee, costs of international travel, books, health insurance, and subsistence. The grant is awarded for a one-year or two-year Master’s degree program.
Application Procedure
- The first step is to visit the scholarship webpage.
- Apply for a Master’s degree program at Groningen University.
- Only applicants who have received a provisional or unconditional admission offer will be considered for the scholarship.
NB: To allow enough time to process the application to a master’s program by the Admission Office, the application should be completed before December 1.
The University of Groningen Admission Office, in consultation with the Admission Boards of its faculties, will determine which applicants will be nominated for an Eric Bleumink Fund scholarship.
