Erasmus Mundus EMMIR Scholarship 2025

Erasmus Mundus EMMIR Scholarship 2025

The Erasmus program was created by the European Union in 1987 with the primary goal of promoting closer partnership between European universities. Over the years, the scholarship program expanded its reach and broadened the framework to become “Erasmus+.”

One of the programs under its umbrella is the Erasmus Mundus EMMIR (The European Master in Migration and Intercultural Relations) Scholarship. It is designed for foreign nationals pursuing master’s degree courses related to migration studies in Germany and Norway.

In this fully funded two-year Master’s Degree program, the student will spend the First Semester in Germany and the Second Semester in Norway. The third semester is a research-based Internship, and the fourth is dedicated to the thesis. The program covers tuition, visa, and travel and provides a stipend of 1400 Euros per Month.

EMMIR is the first African-European-Asian Erasmus Mundus Master Course in migration studies. It is jointly run by a consortium of three African, four European, and two Asian partner institutions and facilitated by a wider network of associate partners.

Applications are open for the Erasmus Mundus EMMIR Scholarship and international students wishing to study in Germany and Norway. You are welcome to apply if you meet the requirements.

Tuition Fees in Germany

Public universities in Germany are very affordable. Tuition fees range from €100 to €350 per semester. Studying at private German institutions is more expensive, so much so that tuition fees at privately run universities typically range from €5,000 to €20,000 per year.

Tuition Fees in Norway

Studying in Norway is very cheap and affordable, even for foreign nationals. Public universities offer free education, and you will only pay a student union fee, which costs between 30 and 60 EUR per semester. Private universities charge tuition fees ranging between 7,000 and 9,000 euros for a year for Bachelor’s programs and 9,000 to 19,000 EUR for master’s programs.
