EDISS Scholarship is a two-year program under the Erasmus Mundus scheme, which was created by collaborating universities in Europe (Finland, Spain, Italy, and Sweden).
Erasmus Mundus was established in 2004 as a higher education cooperation program funded by the European Commission. The Erasmus Mundus EDISS Scholarship is fully supported and valued at 31,320 euros for the duration of the program. It provides a monthly grant of 1400 euros to selected postgraduate students and a participation costs waiver for the entire program duration.
Since its inception, Engineering of Data-intensive Intelligent Software Systems (EDISS) has been bringing together software engineering educators working in data collection, data-driven assessment, and decision-making for both design and runtime and software engineers, architects, and data scientists working on data pipelines, data architectures, DataOps, and experimentation systems.
Students who complete the EDISS Scholarship program will obtain a double master’s degree from Åbo Akademi University in Finland in the first year. In the second year, they will follow their individual mobility path within one of the other European institutions chosen for the specialization.
Applications are still open to international students. EDISS will support five candidates for the academic years 2025-27, and several scholarships (from 10 to 15) will be available.
Tuition Fees in Europe
Foreign students, also known as non-EU/EEA students, generally pay a tuition fee that ranges from 727 EUR to 7,500 EUR per semester, depending on the courses they undertake at a public university in Europe. However, private European universities charge international students around 6,000 to 15,000 EUR per academic year for a Bachelor’s degree and 3,000 to 23,000 EUR/per academic year for a Master’s program.
Eligibility Criteria
These are the set of requirements you must meet to be eligible for the EDISS Scholarships;
- Have a Bachelor’s or equivalent undergraduate degree (at least 180 ECTS) from an accredited university. The degree must be in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent subject.
- Demonstrate proficiency in English. You should possess TOEFL iBT (minimum score 93) or IELTS Academic (minimum score 6,5 with no individual score under 6).
Scholarship Benefits
There are two ways that funding under the scholarship program is provided, and they are as follows;
EDISS Scholarships
