The Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarship—Excellence in Analytical Chemistry provides full funding for students from around the world to pursue Master’s degree programs at higher institutions in Europe.
This is one of the scholarship programs sponsored by the EU consortium. Its aim is to educate specialists in analytical chemistry who are well qualified to work in the food, pharmaceutical, materials, and energy industries and chemical analysis laboratories (environment, food, health) worldwide.
EACH provides knowledge and skills in fundamental and applied aspects of modern analytical chemistry. Four universities, namely, host the program:
- University of Tartu (UT, coordinator), Estonia
- Uppsala University (UU), Sweden
- University Claude Bernard Lyon 1 (UCBL), France
- Åbo Akademi University (AAU), Finland.
International students currently enrolled in postgraduate (Master’s) degree courses in European universities are welcome to apply for the Erasmus Mundus CYBERMACS Scholarship.
Tuition Fees in Europe
As a non-European Union/European Economic Area student undertaking an academic program at a public university in Europe, the cost of study ranges from 727 EUR to 7,500 EUR per semester, depending on the courses. In the case of private universities, all international students should pay around 6,000 to 15,000 EUR per academic year for a Bachelor’s degree and 3,000 to 23,000 EUR/academic year for a Master’s degree.
Eligibility Criteria
What is required for you to be eligible is to;
- Have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) encompassing at least 60 ECTS in chemistry or chemical engineering and 20 ECTS in mathematics and/or physics.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency.
- The minimum eligibility requirement for application is 66% of the maximum grade available, as the average of all courses included in the transcript.
Scholarship Benefits
Recipients of the Erasmus Mundus EACH Scholarships will get full coverage of tuition fees and full insurance. You will also be provided with a monthly allowance of 1400 EUR for up to 24 months to cover living expenses, accommodation, and travel expenses.
The Erasmus Mundus Scholarship amount is divided into;
- TW scholarship funded by the EACH consortium:
The EACH consortium offers several tuition-waiver scholarships, which cover the tuition fee for the two-year program (insurance not included).
2. EU scholarships funded by the European Commission (if applicable)
The EU scholarship will cover the following:
- Participation costs (i.e., tuition fee, including full insurance)
- Monthly allowance of 1400 EUR for up to 24 months (includes an allowance for installation, subsistence, travel, and visa costs).
Application Procedure
- Submit the online application form via the online application system
- You will receive an applicant code, which gives access to your account to track your application status.
- Before submitting the online application form, you need to upload the electronic copies of all the required documents to the online application system
- After that, add the final version of your motivation letter.
- Get ready, as you will take an online calculation test in January.
In case you are offered admission, you are required to send all these application documents;
- Recommendation Letters
- Photocopy of Passport Photo Page
- Proof of Residence
- Motivation Letter
- Academic transcripts
- Signed Bachelor’s diploma (and translation if not in English).
All the documents should be submitted along with your printed and signed application form by post within 3 weeks from the announcement of the offer.
