The Erasmus Mundus program was established in 1987 by the European Union, whose primary purpose was to promote closer cooperation between universities across European countries. Over the years, the program expanded in reach, and with a broadened framework, it became known as “Erasmus+.”
One of the programs under it, the Erasmus Mundus CLMCE Scholarship, offers financial support to students worldwide who wish to pursue 24-month full-time master’s programs in Europe. The scholarship is available at universities in the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, and Poland.
The Erasmus Mundus CLMCE scholarship is valued at 33,600 Euros. It will cover the candidate’s tuition and provide a monthly stipend of 1,400 EUU for the two-year program.
Students will be offered a 24-month master’s in Children’s Literature, Media, and cultural Entrepreneurship, with three mandatory mobility periods and the option to attend one of the consortium’s optional summer schools.
Tuition Fees in Europe
For non-European Union/European Economic Area students undertaking an academic program at a public university in Europe, the cost of study typically ranges from 727 euros to 7,500 euros per semester, depending on the course of study. International students in private universities would pay around 6,000 to 15,000 euros per academic year for a Bachelor’s degree and 3,000 to 23,000 euros per academic year for a Master’s degree.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, a candidate must meet these requirements:
- Have 2.1 Hons (or non-UK equivalent) in English or other Modern Language, Literature Studies, History, Film and Media Studies (within arts and humanities), Childhood Studies, Anthropology, Sociology, Library and Information Studies, Arts or Humanities Education.
- The University sets a minimum English Language proficiency level for applicants whose first language is not English.
You should also prepare the following documents for submission:
- Updated CV
- Official English translations of the certificate(s) and transcript(s)
- A copy of the photo page of your passport
- Two reference* letters on headed paper
- The reference letters must be uploaded at the time of application. At least one must be an academic reference and, if appropriate, the other from the student’s most recent employer.
- Application Form (Scholarship) 2025 (if you’re applying for an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship) OR
- Application Form (Self Funding) 2025 (if you’re applying as a self-funded student)
- A copy (or copies) of your official degree certificate(s) (if you have already completed your degree)
- A copy (or copies) of your official academic transcript(s) showing full details of subjects studied and grades/marks obtained
- English Language Test Certificate (if your first language is not English)—Please note that evidence of your English Language ability (if your first language is not English) must be uploaded by the Scholarship application deadline.
Benefits of Scholarship
The Erasmus Mundus CLMCE scholarship is Euro. Recipients will be awarded grants for a total duration of 24 months. They will receive monthly amounts of 1,400 euros, but the maximum grant amount per student is 33,600 euros.
The scholarship will also cover the student’s tuition fees, insurance, and any other mandatory costs related to their participation in the EMJM study program. The Erasmus program contributes to student travel and installation costs. Installation costs are meant to cover additional expenses, e.g., visa application procedure, issuing of residence permit, and temporary accommodation costs.
