The 2025 Presidential Scholarship at Eastern Michigan University is a fully funded scheme that targets high-achieving international high school graduates and prospective undergraduates who wish to make their dreams a reality in the United States.

As Presidential Scholars, you will be active and engaged members of The Honors College at EMU, wherein you will complement your academic college experience with further opportunities for critical thinking, community engagement, and leadership.

Tuition Fees

The cost of studying at Eastern Michigan University is relatively cheap compared with its counterparts. Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for the Eastern Michigan University Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a High School Senior (Graduate)/Incoming Freshman for Fall 2025
  • Have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA or
  • Have at least 25 composite ACT or 1200 SAT (Critical Reading + Math)
  • SAT/ACT requirements are waived for those with a GPA of 3.85 or higher
  • Have gained admission to Eastern Michigan University and submit all official transcripts and test scores by the scholarship deadline.

Benefits of Scholarship

Eastern Michigan University international students who benefit from the Presidential Scholarship will receive financial aid that covers full tuition and room and board for four years of study. The scholarship’s value at the American higher institution is $100,000.

How to Apply

  • Step 2: Submit the Presidential Scholarship Application Form
  • Step 3: Submit the Presidential Scholarship Essay Form
  • Step 4: Attend an Official Campus Visit

Your visit must be completed during the 2024 calendar year for eligibility. An official campus visit is considered a campus tour, an open house, or a virtual admissions event.

Eastern Michigan University Honors College will be offering special virtual sessions that will count for visit eligibility.

These sessions allow interested students to talk with current Scholars about why they’re glad they came to EMU and learn how to best prepare for the Presidential Scholars Competition.
