The University of Göttingen is a public university in Göttingen, Lower Saxony, Germany. Founded 1737 in the Age of Enlightenment, the university is renowned for its research output.
The DAAD Scholarship at the University of Gottingen is one of DAAD’s Development-Related Postgraduate Programs (EPOS) for postgraduate students from developing countries. The scholarship promotes the training of specialists from developing and newly industrialized countries across all disciplines and with at least two years of professional experience.
The DAAD EPOS Scholarship is a tuition-free Master’s program that supports a student’s studies in MSc Development Economics at the University of Gottingen in Germany. It provides a stipend of €11,208 per year, a travel allowance, accommodation support, and stipends for accompanying family members.
Tuition Fees
The University of Gottingen, Germany, does not charge foreign students tuition fees. However, students are required to pay other expenses. They can choose to apply to any program at the university free of cost, but they have to pay an administrative fee of €75, a Student body fee of €14, and a Bus ticket of €176.40, among other fees.

For a candidate to be eligible for the University of Gottingen DAAD EPOS Scholarship,

- Additionally, you must fulfill all the eligibility criteria the DAAD requires as outlined on the corresponding DAAD website.
Benefits of Scholarship
There are numerous benefits to the available DAAD scholarships at the institution. Depending on an academic level, graduate students will receive monthly payments of 934 euros while 1,300 euros will be awarded to doctoral candidates for the duration of the scholarship, 12 to 42 months (dependent on the study program)
The scholarship also provides payments towards health, accident, and personal liability insurance coverage and a travel allowance unless the home country or another funding source covers these expenses. Under certain circumstances, scholarship holders may be provided with a monthly rent subsidy and monthly allowance for accompanying family members.
Application Procedure

- To receive the scholarship for a Masters in Development Economics, you only have to apply once for both – the study program and funding following these steps.
Step 1: Complete the online application form and submit it by clicking on the send button at the end.
After that, you will receive an email that contains your login data (username and password) and a link to a document upload portal.
Step 2: When you are at the portal, enter your username and password from the email and follow the steps in the upload portal to upload your documents.
Submit your documents within the deadline by clicking on the ‘Binding submission’ button.
