The Chancellors International Scholarships is domiciled at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom. The institution awards aid to the best international postgraduate researchers so that they can make invaluable contributions to its vibrant global community of world-leading researchers.
The University of Warwick Chancellors Scholarship is a fully funded program for PhD students. It covers the tuition fees and offers a stipend during the intensive program.
The University of Warwick was founded in 1965 as part of a government initiative to expand higher education. This public university, situated in Warwickshire, England, has a reputation for world-class research both at home and abroad.
International students are welcome to apply for the scholarship and the opportunity to undertake a doctorate degree program at the prestigious British higher institution.
Tuition Fees
The cost of studying at the University of Warwick is around £9,250 for domestic students. For international students, the tuition fees vary and depend on the program/course. However, they generally cost between £26,290 and 33,5200, irrespective of the course of study. Tuition fees are payable for each year of your course at the start of the academic year or at the start of your course if later.
Eligibility Criteria
The criteria that the University of Warwick set for applicants to be eligible for its Chancellors Scholarship is that you must;
- Apply for a PhD at the University of Warwick to begin in October 2025;
- Be assessed as ‘overseas’ for fee purposes. There are no other nationality criteria;
- Be from any discipline at Warwick.
- Scholarships cannot be deferred to the next academic year.
Scholarship Benefits
The University of Warwick budgets £5 million for its annual Chancellors International Scholarships. The awards will go to the 42 most outstanding International PhD applicants.
Awards made for entry in Autumn 2025 will include the following:
- The full payment of tuition fees
- A maintenance stipend paid at the prevailing UKRI rate (£19,795 per year) for 3.5 years
- A Research, Training, and Supporting Grant (RTSG) £5,000.
- For eligible scholars, the opportunity to apply for financial support towards the cost of immigration to the UK.
Application Procedure
- Step 1: Read the Applicant Guidance Notes and PGR Ranking Criteria
- Step 2: Submit your course application and upload supporting documents.
- Step 3: Receive an automated email with a seven-digit applicant ID number. Please allow at least 48 hours for this to arrive.
- Step 4: Register your ITS applicant account. Please note that the Doctoral College cannot help with the issuing of ID numbers.
- Step 5: Submit your scholarship application by the deadline (now Closed). We regret that we are unable to accept late applications.
- Step 6: Submit supporting documents by the deadline (TBA). We regret that we cannot accept late supporting documents.
The Chancellor’s International Scholarship results will be communicated by email by the start of March 2025.
