The Cambridge Africa Changemakers Scholarship is a fully funded program for African students seeking PhD degrees from the University of Cambridge, England.
The University of Cambridge, also known as Cambridge University, was established in 1209. It is among the top-ranked institutions in the United Kingdom and the third-oldest university in the world, and it is still in operation. This top-ranked tertiary institution offers thousands of students a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Cambridge University Changemakers Scholarship is designed for talented candidates who require financial assistance to study any course of their choice at the university, whose research contributes to the continent’s development and climate-resilient and sustainable futures for Africa and the world. It is open to candidates from any African country, covering tuition, travel, and living expenses. This scholarship is closely affiliated with the Mastercard Foundation Scholars program.
International students are welcome to apply for the Changemakers Scholarship, enabling them to study various doctorate-level courses at the University of Cambridge.
Tuition Fees
The tuition fee at the University of Cambridge is typically around £9,250 per year for domestic students at the undergraduate level. On the other hand, the cost of tuition for international students is between £22,227 to £58,038. The fee for postgraduate students (MSc/PhD) depends on your course and fee status, but on average, it ranges from £18,300 to 44,826. The university charges domestic and EU students the maximum fees allowed under government regulations.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must;
- Be an African citizen.
- Have applied to a doctoral program at Cambridge University.
- Apply before the deadline.
- Research areas must contribute to the development of the African continent and climate-resilient and sustainable futures for Africa and the world.
Scholarship Benefits
The fully funded scholarship offered by the university covers the tuition fee and annual stipend. The higher institution also provides aid for Immigration Health Surcharge, student Visa, travel, and research costs.
Application Procedure
The first step to being selected for the scholarship program is to;
- Apply to a doctoral program at Cambridge University.
For admission;
- Applicants may study any subject currently available at the University of Cambridge.
- Visit the postgraduate course directory for further information.
- Before applying to the university, thoroughly research your chosen course of study.
- If you are applying for postgraduate study, you may state a choice of two Colleges on your application form. The second option is to leave that section blank and be considered by any College.
