The British Council Women in STEM Scholarship, as the name implies, is specifically designed for women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The scholarship program empowers women with funding to pursue and obtain a master’s degree in a STEM subject at a leading university in the United Kingdom.
This fully funded scheme, operated in partnership with UK universities, covers the costs of tuition, travel, a living stipend, and health insurance. Scholarships are awarded to women from eligible countries who can demonstrate their need for financial support and who wish to inspire future generations of women to pursue careers in STEM.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must;
- Be a woman
- Demonstrate financial need
- Have undergraduate degree
- Be ready to take up a course of study in the UK.
- Prove English language proficiency required for postgraduate studies in the UK.
- Be active in the field with work experience or a proven interest in your subject area.
- Be passionate about the course of study and are willing to engage as committed British Council scholarship alumni.

Benefits of Scholarship
When selected for the British Council Women In STEM Scholarship, you will receive funding to cover full tuition fees and travel costs. The scholarship will also provide a stipend for the student’s living expenses and cover Visa and health coverage fees.

- Step 2: Choose an eligible program
- Step 3: Apply jointly for admission and the scholarship
Important Notice: Admission to any program at eligible universities differs from the deadline for applying for a scholarship.
