The University of Miami Isaac Bashevis Undergraduate Scholarship provides financial support for international students who want to obtain a bachelor’s degree in the US. It is awarded to exceptional and academically accomplished high school seniors and covers full tuition for the recipient’s undergraduate program. The Isaac Bashevis Singer Scholarship is named after Isaac Bashevis Singer, a Nobel Prize-winning author who was a lecturer at UM.

Eligibility Criteria
Here are the requirements for the 2025 University of Miami Isaac Bashevis Scholarship.
- Applicants are expected to meet the first-year entry requirements of the University of Miami.
- Applicants are expected to meet the institution’s English language requirements.
- You must apply for admission to study for an undergraduate degree at the institution.
- You must apply by the regular Early Decision I or II deadline. Early Decision I and Early Action applicants are automatically considered when they apply for early admission to UM by submitting all First-Year Admission Requirements.
- A Singer Scholar must complete a full-time undergraduate program of study with a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year (12 credits each for two semesters)
- A minimum of a 3.0 GPA for the academic year must be maintained at the University of Miami.
Scholarship Benefits
The Isaac Bashevis Undergraduate Scholarship offers full tuition coverage to successful candidates for the duration of the undergraduate program. The award is subject to revision pending receipt of any grant, scholarship, or prepaid tuition and/or housing aid not anticipated when the award is made.
As a recipient, you will be invited to participate in the University of Miami’s scholarship program during spring. There, you will meet with UM faculty and current scholars and learn more about UM’s interest-driven education.

- Early Decision I and Early Action applicants are automatically considered when they apply for early admission.
