The 2025 British Council Scotland EARTH Scholarships is a program funded by the British Council and managed by the Scottish Graduate School For Arts & Humanities (SGSAH) to enable international research partnerships between Scottish universities, academic mentors, and external organizations.
The focus is on environmental arts and humanities and how these areas connect with other disciplines. Furthermore, the program seeks to highlight the role of the arts and humanities in addressing climate change and encourage interdisciplinary research that includes science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics (STEAM).
Applications for the British Council Scotland EARTH Scholarships 2025 are open, and international students willing to pursue postgraduate research in Scotland are welcome to apply.
Tuition Fees in Scotland
The standard tuition fee at universities in Scotland is around £1,820 a year for an undergraduate degree. However, as a Scottish student looking to pursue an undergraduate program, you are eligible for home tuition fees, which means that the Student Awards Agency for Scotland (SAAS) will cover the tuition.
For international students undertaking bachelor’s or graduate programs in Scotland, the tuition fees you pay are decided by the college or university. The tuition fee rate for international students can be between £10,000 – £35,000 per year. If you apply outside the UK, you will also be expected to pay £363 as a student visa fee. It will cost £490 if you are in the UK and want to extend or switch this visa. You also may have to pay a healthcare surcharge as part of your visa application. This will cost £235 for six months and £470 for one year.
