Sciences Po, also known as the Paris Institute of Political Studies, was founded by Emile Boutmy in July 1872. It is located in Paris, France.   • The tuition fee for students registering for the Arts and Politics Certificate for the 2024-2025 academic year is €10,000.

Eligibility Criteria

The Émile Boutmy scholarship may not be combined with other scholarships apart from exceptional cases decided by the jury (Eiffel scholarship, AEFE scholarship)

To be eligible for the scholarship;

  • Students must be first-time applicants admitted to the Undergraduate or Master’s program.
  • Students must be from a non-European Union state whose household does not file taxes within the European Union.

Students who are not eligible are:

  • Swiss and Norwegian applicants, since they may be entitled to CROUS scholarships
  • Candidates who have dual citizenship, one of them being an EU citizenship
  • Master’s level dual-degree candidates, unless you are applying for one of the following programs:
  1. the dual degree Sciences Po/Fudan University with a concentration in Europe-Asia in Global Affairs (only applicants with Chinese nationality)
  2. the dual degree Sciences Po/Peking University (only applicants with Chinese nationality)
  • Ph.D. program students (thesis)
  • Candidates for the one-year Master’s programs
  • Bachelor dual degree candidates (unless as part of a specific agreement)

Scholarship Benefits

International students arriving at Sciences Po for their first year of studies are usually the recipients of the Émile Boutmy scholarship, which is awarded at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.

Benefits for Bachelors Students

The Émile Boutmy financial aid can come in different forms:

  • Tuition grant of €14,720 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
  • Tuition grant of €9,500 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.
  • Tuition grant of €6,500 per year for the three years of the undergraduate program.

The scholarship is automatically renewed if the student chooses to continue their graduate studies at Sciences Po.

Benefits for Masters Students

Émile Boutmy provides a tuition fee grant of €13,100 per year for Master’s degree students, which covers part of the tuition fees for the two years of the program. If you have been granted a scholarship and you decide to defer your admission, your scholarship will be lost.

Undergraduate Application

To apply for the Sciences Po Emile Boutmy Scholarship at the undergraduate level, follow the steps below:

  • First, apply for undergraduate admission at Sciences Po.
  • Applicants from foreign secondary schools must indicate that they are applying to the Émile Boutmy scholarship in their Sciences Po application’s “Financial information” section.
  • Applicants might be asked to provide proof of income and documents explaining their family situation, such as income tax returns for both parents, payslips, divorce certificates, unemployment benefits, documents related to alimony, child support or retirement pensions, and death certificates.

Masters Application
